Celebrating New Mexico Statehood
This website provides access to cultural heritage materials from twelve New Mexico institutions including the Roswell Museum and Art Center. This project is hosted by UNM Libraries and is funded by UNM's Center for Regional Studies.

The Roswell Museum and Art Center’s permanent collection is comprised of fine art and historical materials that chronicle specific areas of cultural change in the Southwest while recognizing this region’s relationship to the broader American society.

Rogers and Mary Ellen Aston Collection of the American West

This collection includes artifacts and works of art that recount the conquest and settlement of the American West including its early occupation by native peoples; Spanish conquest and domination; and European American expansion into the West.

Robert H. Goddard Collection of Liquid-Propellant Rocketry

This collection includes Dr. Goddard’s original rocket launch tower (located on the Museum grounds), rocket assemblies, journals and notes, rare film footage of rocket launches, and a recreation of Goddard’s workshop with machinery, tools, rocket cones, and fully-assembled rockets.
