Gift of Time: Dorota Mytych is comprised of work that reflects the artist’s stay with the Roswell Artist-in-Residence Program combined with a recent trip to, and study in, Florence, Italy. Her work is a response to her surroundings—interactions with people, animals, the landscape—as well as cultural references. She gathers these elements together on the same surface, building a bigger picture where everything coexists at the same time. The exhibition will present elements of both process and finished artwork, and will include sketches, drawings, paintings, found objects, and sculptures. Dorota Mytych was born in Elblag, Poland in 1970. She graduated from the Accademia delle Belle Arti, Florence, Italy in 1996. Since 1992 she has exhibited regularly in solo and group exhibitions in Poland, Italy, America, Germany, The Netherlands, and Australia. Mytych has been the recipient of several prestigious international and national art prizes and residencies. Her work is held in both private and public collections. This exhibition is presented in partnership with the Roswell Artist-in-Residence Program and the Anderson Museum of Contemporary Art.
